The world of show business, a field in which passion, art and capability unfortunately often have to face up with many serious problems such as hypocrisy, deceitfulness and lack of preparation, while, unfairly, deserving people have difficulties to get considered...

Some thoughts will be dedicated to the students and all the ones that desire to be part in the world of show business. To know that many people today still want to approach this field, driven by the deep sensations that it is able to inspire, is surely comforting. Learning to feel and express what is within oneself, conveying to others emotions and feelings, involving the audience and be rewarded by its approval, are important moments in the life of who desires to specialise as an artist or in the various specific technical subjects. A path in which one will be able to grow not only as a professional, but also inwardly, and share with others these progress and achievements. Certainly effort, perseverance and willpower will be required to achieve the settled goals, although they might not be enough. In this field, in fact, the positive sides that may justify a lifestyle choice by themselves, unfortunately, are accompanied by many aspects definitely negative, where arrogance, haughtiness, lack of humbleness, inadequacy, lies and unluckily even more, might get on the path towards the realisation of one's own dreams...
Will be considered some of the situations reported more and more frequently by qualified professionals and keen students of the field, in their different aspects. The nations considerably more active in dealing with these episodes have the will to let prevail respect, professionalism and meritocracy. Instead in others the discontent has spread since not enough interest and effort are seen, even when they belong to an area that should show itself as much more careful to improve.
With great regret in this field might be met exponents that flaunt their supposed professionalism, experience, organisational skill... All of this just in words, but after they should be followed by facts. These 'pseudo-professionals' prove to be regardless of people and human relationships, inaccurate and unprofessional for example already at the moment to make an appointment, deciding the exact date that afterwards will not be respected. Or they postpone continuously the meeting, wasting one's time and resources when trying to find them. Besides these behaviours, they boast of being able to perform their own task, but in concrete they show to have difficulty even in the case of rather simple and limited situations, causing serious problems to the ones that collaborate with them, and when precision and knowledge are required, they might have a bad-tempered reaction often showing themselves offended and resentful. When the criticisms and confrontation are constructive, fair and polite, they may be an opportunity to improve one's own actions. Instead some producers, directors, artists, press offices, staff events, agencies... rather than appreciate, they try to avoid them. They will not admit their mistakes and will say that the others are wrong, finding excuses and lies only to justify themselves and not apologise, as if it would be difficult... In many cases someone believes in what has been said to denigrate and repeats it superficially, without gathering information, helping to create a negative prejudice started with the egoistic purpose to keep away certain people due to groundless reasons. To make mistakes is human and it is right to forgive, but it is serious to remark that reality is distorted for cunning, lack of humbleness and consideration for others, even in a premeditated way and without caring about what happens. This is also due to the incorrect usage of not giving the right value to the words and agreements, so that the most cunning ones might find immediately a way out not to comply with the commitments made, denying what they have previously declared or, paradoxically, accusing the others to have misunderstood. In this way they deceive those who have relied on them in good faith, exposing themselves to the risk of seeing their artistic journey spoiled. A serious and inconceivable attitude that would cause irreparable damages to those that have a good will, spirit of sacrifice and talent to dedicate to one's own growth. In many situations the firm belief to have reached a position of supposed superiority leads them not to keep themselves informed and updated of what is happening in their field, with the presumptuousness of someone who considers that now there is nothing more to learn and may not dissipate one's own 'precious' time to listen to the others. It is possible for them to address their own interlocutors in a formal way, certainly not to show education and respect, but to create a barrier that is not allowed to exceed. Or they claim that the projects presented to them do not require an additional effort, but they have to bring clear advantages. To start up a real collaboration would be essential to give one's own contribution, combining capability, skills, knowledge, technique and what is necessary to achieve the goal together.
It is noticed with disappointment the presence of those that belong to this field, even marginally or pretending to be so, trying to use the others in a wretched way and exclusively for their own interests. Initially they show kindness, but when they believe to have already gained what might be useful for them, they behave in an incomprehensible, disrespectful and unfair way. However the working proposals may have an irregular direction, alternating between positive and less favourable periods. In addition there are those that let themselves become infatuated with words like 'success' and 'popularity', and the numerous demands made during moments of their artistic path, that however may disappear at the same speed at which they have arrived. When these individuals 'get a big head', egocentricity and egoism lead to consider themselves at such a 'level' to be able to ignore those that may not be useful to their interests, whether they had already got in touch with these people, being listened with willingness, respect and sincerity, or they had not even known them. With an absolute lack of gratitude, they are even able not to salute anymore and get themselves untraceable. Maybe they say to be 'busy' also for long periods of time, as it would be plausible for those who really are so, but in practice it is just an excuse because they have no intention of allowing just a single minute. Moreover there is who makes understand that one is disturbing, even in a rude way, and who hides behind a diplomatic attitude, apparently gentle, one's own lack of willingness even for a very brief moment, although many times the reasons are without foundation, meaning, logic, coherence, reliability... But when they think to be able to take advantage once again, even after years of silence, due to a possible change of circumstances, they suddenly return to get in touch even with many people after having behaved unfairly, pretending that nothing has happened. More unexpected problems might be still added, such as those that act willingly with the intent to take the others' place, driven by rivalry, envy and greed. Even towards those that have stood by them during the hard times. On a human level, it is unpleasant to note the lack of sensitivity and altruism.
A series of unbecoming behaviours, wrongness and inconsistencies causing many difficulties to those who are into the world of show business, even if, with great disappointment and bitterness, it should not be forgotten that this happens also in other fields, which would deserve more attention. Nevertheless, there are very competent people, with great passion and dedication, that are able to bring new and creative ideas. There are nations in which an original, involving, well thought up and structured proposal, is usually explained, appreciated, enhanced... Instead other ones generally prove to have a limited view, with the 'blinkers', not being able to understand its real qualities and potentiality, incomprehensibly managing to show indifference even before knowing very brief basic information. In this case the deserving ones find the way many times blocked by individuals that unjustifiably take advantage occupying positions for which they have not even the necessary skills, satisfied of their privileges and with the confidence that no changes will happen. Often there is neither the concern to know whether a position has been obtained by merits, and if alternative choices have been made even definitely below an acceptable quality. It is attempted to show these facts as normal, which in reality they are not, facilitated by the ones that remain silent turning their eyes to the other side, as many people who prefer to avoid probable complications and potentially unfavourable situations. In this way reliability and credibility would be lost. Who is conscious of one's own knowledge simply asks that when real capabilities are proved, as a result of study and effort, these have to be respected, with the possibility that the validity of the proposed project would be evaluated in an objective way. So would happen a progressive insertion of the deserving ones to replace those who deliberately behave with incompetence, indifference, egoism, wickedness, creating inefficiency and troubles that affect the entire community. To stop this downward spiral is necessary to give space to meritocracy, founding the human relationships on mutual respect, relying on those that are able to reach their own aim with passion and enthusiasm.
The wish is that might be the values to make increasingly the difference, being able to freely express oneself and realise the desired goal.

The international courses on English, diction and accents in the morning, then acting, theatre, singing and dancing in the afternoon, cultural excursions and meeting with professional people in the world of show business in the evening (and much more...) in Los Angeles (U.S.A.) are closed: from the 3rd to the 17th of January 2014.
A good way for people that are interested to combine Acting and English: improving also your vocabulary, grammar structure, the punctuation and its pauses, pronunciation, spelling, accents, how to talk in public, the posture, the style... and much more!
At the moment similar cultural projects in Australia, Canada and United Kingdom are closed. Possibility of availability of the international courses on request from full groups as high schools, colleges, universities, associations, from small and medium companies to the large multinational corporations, etc...
All the teachers are specialised with high professional level!

An important message, most of all for the young people that are trying to get into the field of show business:
sometimes in this field, as in other, there are people that are NOT correct and they try to take advantage from the weakest, ingenuous people... For example, if someone is promising you to have a role as an actor/actress and this person is also asking you money... this is NOT right, do NOT pay any money!
Always remember that you should NEVER pay any money to work! Open your eyes and don't make yourself ripped off from these people!
Has anyone promised to help you to become a 'Star' and at the same time making you some very strange or indecent proposals?
Has anyone promised you a role as an actor/actress if you did their course and you had to pay for it? Don't you think it is very wrong that a University promises to a student to become a 'professional Architect' before he/she even starts his/her lessons of 'Architecture'? The student couldn't even pass his/her exams and wouldn't get his/her degree, he/she might be not a good architect and in this case not good for this profession! Who said that he/she will be for sure a 'professional Architect' before starting to have lessons at University? So, the same it's for this field, there is a lot to learn before becoming an actor/actress of high professional level!
It’s NOT correct to deceive and taking the mickey to people! Be careful about these people, be careful about the 'easy promises'! If you hear anything NOT correct, please let it know as soon as possible with as much information as you can.

There are people that should use their creativity, intelligence and imagination, instead of COPYING the initiatives of others!
There are people who have got in touch claiming to be students (or for other invented reasons) implying that they would be interested about the international courses, and then asking for details, including technical information about the courses... It was later discovered that these people have lied (they were neither students nor potential collaborators, but only cunning profiteers) and they have tried incorrectly to copy projects from others!
To some of these people happened to have sent the 'drafts' also with technical information: just because they are called 'drafts' and for various reasons were not as definitive (should also have been some updates), then there might also be errors in the 'drafts'. One of the strange things is that these people have copied in an identical way also few small errors that were in the 'drafts', probably doing copy and paste! They did not even want to do the 'effort' to check the 'drafts' properly...
Several anomalies have been provided by real students and they have to be thanked for the accurate reports.
Be careful about the imitations! Be careful about the people that copy international projects, many of them without even giving you a professional level of lessons and teachers! There are too many people that improvise in this field without being truly qualified and without having the technical competence, and it has been thought to let you know!
Wherever you are, please look around properly because there are also many other people that are good and professional. Avoid those that are not correct and unprofessional, but also think carefully by the person who says that he is the only good one and no one else is as good as him (or her) or their group of 'friends' that usually are thinking more about their interests rather than trying to help in an humble way and give a proper good education to the student (or the young artist)...
